Spirited Women Collaborative
&
SpiritArt Studio

Louise Lalande, founder Spirited Women Collaborative (2010), shares a vision to help foster healthy, harmonious and thriving communities through experiential workshops and events. This encourages authentic connections and creative reflection; naturally unleashing one’s potential to live a joyful and meaningful life. This group and Louise’s work morphed into SpiritArt Studio.

SpiritArt’s funding was unfortuately not renewed; However, until the building is sold we still have access to this wonderful, unique and welcoming space. The workshops Louise offers are in the vein.

The SpiritArt Program was created for those who wished to explore spirituality through the arts. Located at Chapel and Laurier Streets East in Sandy Hill, the SpiritArt Program promoted the integration of visual arts, music, dance, and other creative arts into our lives.  It fostered opportunities for people of all ages, cultures and religious background to celebrate what they share  and discover their differences.

The SpiritArt Program was a unique community initiative that created a space to explore the connections between spirit and the arts.

Arts-based workshops enabled people of all denominations to explore their own creativity, spirituality, and faith formation.

All Saints Sandy Hill Anglican Church jointly sponsored this program with a grant from the GIFT program of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa and Faith and Arts Ottawa, an initiative of the United Church of Canada.

"The key question isn't "What fosters creativity?" But it is why in God's name isn't everyone creative? Where was the human potential lost? How was it crippled? I think therefore a good question might be not why do people create? But why do people not create or innovate? We have got to abandon that sense of amazement in the face of creativity, as if it were a miracle if anybody created anything."

                                                      Abraham Maslow
